The newly crowned Welsh champion, Cory has announced their immediate contesting plans following the announcement of the impending departure of MD Dr Robert Childs.
Inspiration
A spokesperson told 4BR: "Everyone associated with Cory would like to thank Bob for his dedication and inspiration over the past 12 years, which has resulted in a period of unprecedented success.
From the first contest in Ebbw Vale in 2000 and Millennium ‘Double’, through the premiere of the ‘Gaia Symphony’, and five consecutive years as the number 1 ranked band in the world, it has been a period of success unparalleled in Cory’s banding history."
European lead
It was conformed that Dr Childs would lead Cory at the European Brass Band Championships in Rotterdam, whilst he would complete a number of high profile concert commitments with the band too.
"We are determined to give Bob the send off he deserves," they added.
Extensive search
It has been revealed that band executives have already commenced a comprehensive search for a new Musical Director, although no decision has yet been made on who will take over the role with the current British Open champion.

The spokesperson added: "It’s business as usual.
