Wingates has announced a number of new player and management changes.

Positive

A spokesman told 4BR: "Following Andrew Berryman’s return as Musical Director there has been a restructuring of personnel. We regard this as enormously positive. This has given long serving Chairman Barry Bentley the chance to take a rest from the arduous demands of running the band. Adrian Bird takes over the role."

Gratitude

They added: "The band wish to place on record their unreserved gratitude to Barry for his tremendous service during one of the band’s most successful periods in its recent history, and is pleased that he has accepted the position of Vice President.

Barry will be remaining registered as a player and the band look forward to playing at his wedding in December."

New players

The band has welcomed new players in Lucy Robinson on tuned percussion and Adam Parr on horn, whilst veteran E flat bass player John Clough, has decided to have a break from banding for a few months.
