October date
The 2012 Festival will be staged on Sunday 7th October at Heritage High School, Clowne, Derbyshire.

Excellent facilities
A spokesperson told 4BR: "The 2012 Festival has moved to the Heritage High school which was opened in 2011 with an event performed by the Halle Orchestra. The school has excellent facilities and all sections can be accommodated within one site making the event logistically much easier to manage."
Charity Concert
The Festival will once again host a charity ‘Re-union’ entertainment event featuring bands wishing to come back together to perform for the occasion.
That increasingly popular contest will take place on Saturday 6th October at Kissingate Leisure Centre, Shirebrook.
Desford anniversary
The James Watson Memorial Trust will benefit from the event, which this year will feature former players of the great Desford Colliery Caterpillar Band (1987-91), who will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their historic Albert Hall National Championship hat trick.

Re-union contest
All past and present players of the band are welcome to attend the re-union, and it is hoped that Desford will have two bands competing in the Charity event – the Desford Colliery Caterpillar 1987-1991 Band and Desford Colliery Youth Band of the same period.
The City of Coventry and Ransome Bands, who are event’s reigning champion have already indicated that they will compete in what is a great contest of fun, brilliant music and memories!
The format for the charity event is an afternoon entertainment contest followed by an evening re-union and meal to raise money for the James Watson Trust.
