Bandmaster stay muted with Masters champion

Tredegar

Bandmaster Ltd has announced that it has continued to develop its partnership with current All England International Masters champion, Tredegar.

Striking

At a recent concert at the Sir Adrian Boult Hall in Birmingham, Bandmaster presented the band with a unique set of bespoke Wallace Collection cornet mutes in striking band colours.

State of the art

Bandmaster Limited is the authorised distributor and stockist for the full Wallace Collection range in Wales and the state of the art mutes, which are made by award winning instrument designer Ian Muirhead will be used exclusively by Tredegar.

Superb

Bandmaster’s Matthew Ruel stated: "Wallace Mutes are superb in all aspects of performance and include a wide variety of tonal colours. Unlike other products, Wallace Mutes will maintain a constant centre and respond evenly throughout the range at every dynamic.

In addition, Wallace Mutes provide a range of practice mutes which offer adjustable resistance and their innovative design provides the brass player with the ability to find and set the level of sound required."

World class

He added: "We believe Tredegar provides Bandmaster and Wallace Mutes with a world class shop window for a world class product. To have a band of this stature to exclusively use the mutes shows just how good they are. The decision to produce them in their band colours also shows off the mutes in a unique way too."

Huge benefit

MD Ian Porthouse believes the partnership will be of huge benefit to his band too. "The amount of time and thought that has gone into the design of the mutes is remarkable.

The quality is second to none and the flexibility it gives to the band in terms of a new colour palette to work with is superb. It’s a real boost to be able to be to showcase such a great product, especially in our famous colours."

Extra edge

And the final word of just how good they are went to principal cornet Dewi Griffiths.

"To have the whole of the cornet section kitted out in such a way is a huge benefit to us. It gives us a real extra edge in terms of quality. We know they look brilliant and now we know we can show that they sound brilliant too."
