Breath of Souls to test New Zealand's best

Breath of Souls leads the test piece selections for New Zealand National Championships later this year.

Paul Lovatt-Cooper's 2011 National Finals set work, 'Breath of Souls' has been chosen as the set work for the 2012 New Zealand Championships to be held in Timaru later this year.

Oldest National

It will provide the band's at the oldest National Championship contest in the world with the opportunity to pit their wits against its fiendishly difficult technical challenges.

Classic

Meanwhile, a classic piece of Vaughan-Williams will test the B Grade bands, with his 'Variations for Brass Band', which was also used at the National Finals in the UK, way back in 1957.

Philip Sparke's highly enjoyable 'Triptych' will provide the test for bands in the C Grade.

It will provide the band's at the oldest National Championship contest in the world with the opportunity to pit their wits against its fiendishly difficult technical challenges4br
