Newtown Silver Band will be holding a Area test piece workshop this weekend at the Monty Club, Newtown, led by Gwyn Evans, Musical Director of Seindorf Beaumaris.
Cross Patonce
Gwyn will lead the band in their final intensive preparations on the Second Section set work, 'Cross Patonce' in readiness for the Welsh Regional Championships in Swansea in March.
In addition, the band welcomes three new signings from the North Powys Youth Band, in the shape of Matthew Richards, Adam Jones and William Hughes.
Experience
Meanwhile, two young members are branching out with their musical experience.
Matthew Richards has passed his audition for the National Youth Brass Band of Wales, whilst Osian Davies has successfully auditioned for the National Youth Brass Band, the National Youth Wind Band and National Youth Jazz Bands of Wales.
