Smithills complete marathon

Two amazing events for Smithills — a 10 hour marathon and a Bolton Wanderers win.

Smithills

Smithills Senior Band under the baton of MD Chris Wormald has successfully completed their latest, annual 10 hour non-stop sponsored rehearsal day.

US Tour

The weekend event saw the band perform from 9.00am until 7.15pm to help raise funds for their forthcoming tour to the USA.

Chris told 4BR: "As always, the day went very quickly and was a great day for band members to get to know each other even better before flying out to America in July."

The main focus of the day was to rehearse a brand new arrangement of the music from ‘Les Miserables’, in preparation for the tour and the band’s forthcoming concerts as well as other demanding repertoire.

Football Focus

Chris added: "Having played at the Reebok Stadium just the day before, prior to the Bolton Wanderers v Liverpool Premiership match, it was a great weekend for the young Smithills musicians, especially as Bolton won!"
