4BR has been informed that a recent survey amongst the bands taking part in this year's Scottish Championships has resulted in the decision to implement a pre-draw for Sections 1-4.

The decision taken at the meeting of the SBBA Executive on 15th January is seen as a positive move to help bands with increasingly expensive travel arrangements.

Draw

The draw for the Scottish Championship will take place on Sunday 5th February at Howden Park Centre, the same day as the Open Solo & Ensemble Contest.

Bands will be informed of their draw on the Monday of that week and timings for the weekend will be sent out shortly afterwards.

Open or closed

Also included in the survey was the question of open or closed adjudication. At this time the overall majority of bands requested closed adjudication at the Scottish Championships.
