Wyatt to head Gresley challenge

Top man Gary Wyatt is set to lead Gresley Colliery from the front.

Gresley Colliery Brass Band has announced the appointment of the highly respected Gary Wyatt as their new MD.

Top man

The former Principal Cornet of the Central Band of the Royal Air Force is currently playing top man with Desford Colliery Band, and will make his conducting debut with Gresley at the Midlands Area Championship in March.

Gresley Colliery Band Manager Faye Lee told 4BR: "Gary brings with him a great wealth of experience both in playing and conducting at the top level, and we are looking forward to competing under him in the Championship Section at the Midlands Area contest in Bedworth in March."
