More new talent at Portishead

West of England contender set for busy 2012 with new playing and conducting talent.

Portishead Town has added a further three players and a new resident MD to their ranks as they prepare for the forthcoming season.

New resident

Following his work with the band over the Christmas period Kevin White takes up the vacant position of Resident Musical Director.

Band Manager Dan Jones told 4BR: "Kevin’s enthusiasm and experience is already rubbing off on the band who are looking forward to working with him in the lead up to the Yeovil Entertainment Contest and the West of England Areas."

Kevin brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. His rehearsals are enjoyable but more importantly include a high work rate. The latest signings are another important step in our progressionBand Manager, Dan Jones

New sop

Soprano player Ashley Keyte moves onto the front row to make way for ex-Flowers player Andy Briggs who swaps Bb for Eb. Louise Wall joins on 2nd baritone, whilst the band also welcomes back both Andy Davies on 2nd horn and Mark Jones on solo cornet to complete the front row team.

Dan added: "Kevin brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. His rehearsals are enjoyable but more importantly include a high work rate. The latest signings are another important step in our progression."
