Fairlop Brass, based in Hainault, Essex has been awarded £360 by the BT Community Champions Award scheme thanks to the voluntary work of one of their players, and BT employee David Jordan.

Community

Run by the BT Volunteering team, BT Community Champions, awards BT people with funding on behalf of local community groups, charities and organisations where they work on a voluntary basis.

Percussion

The band plans to use its £360 towards extending its range of percussion equipment, and MD Kevin Jordan told 4BR: "We are very pleased with our second BT Community Champions award as this gives recognition for the many, many hours of work that we devote to supporting and raising funds for local Community and Charity groups."

BT people can apply for a BT Community Champions award to receive cash grants of up to £500.
