Wrexham Brass (Glyndwr) has announced the decision of Wayne Ruston to stand down from the post of Musical Director.
Statement
The statement released to 4BR reads:
"Wrexham Brass (Glyndwr) is sad to announce that after 11 years as Musical Director of the band Mr Wayne Ruston has decided to stand down.
The band wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to Wayne for all his efforts in that time. His commitment and dedication to the band has never been less than 100%.
This was rewarded with some of the most successful contesting results in the band’s history, in particular the Pontins First Section double in 2003 and 2004, and its leading role in two separate runs of the Clwyd Theatr Cymru production of “Brassed Off” in 2004 and 2005.
This year the band is determined to maintain and improve upon its position in the Senior Trophy achieved under Wayne’s direction. The band wishes Wayne every success for his future ventures.
The band would also like to thank Chris Ruston for his 11 years dedicated service as principal percussionist following his decision to stand down at this time. Again, the band wishes to extend its good wishes for the future to Chris."
