The Middleton Band under the direction of guest MD Neil Samuel has just completed an intensive weekend of sectionals and full rehearsals in preparation for their apperance at the Butlins Mineworker’s Championship in Skegness.

Helped by guest tutors Leah Williams, Gareth Brindle and Andrew Warriner, the band were put through their paces on Granville Bantock’s ‘The Frogs’.

Neil told 4BR: "The band were quite nervous about playing such a difficult piece, but thanks to their hard work and perseverance and the expertise and dedication of the tutors, we are now looking forward to the contest."
