2012 Butlins Mineworkers Championship

Organisers announce the full list of runners & riders, prizes and judges for Butlins.

The organisers of the Butlins Mineworkers Championship have released the official list of entrants for each of the six sections that will take place on the Skegness resort on the weekend of the 21st/22nd January.

Hefty cash prizes

With hefty cash prizes on offer the event has attracted a huge turnout of contenders – with 23 bands taking part in the First Section, 19 in the Second, 15 in the Third, and 15 in the Fourth.

The Blue Riband two legged Championship event with its first prize of £7,000 has attracted 12 ambitious bands headed by reigning champion Flowers (Gloucester), whilst the encouraging development of the youth event sees a dozen young bands competing in two sections.

Grimey theme

There is a ‘Grimey’ theme to the adjudication teams who will be in charge of deciding the various titles this year, whilst a 20th anniversary Grimethorpe ‘Old Boys’ Band has been brought together to provide a wonderful closing concert on the Sunday.
