Steve Pritchard-Jones has accepted the offer to conduct Sabrina (Shrewsbury) Band on a full time basis, after working with them over the past few months.

Steve told 4BR that he was thrilled to be taking on the new role and laid out his ambitions for his time in the job.

"I wish to celebrate its progressive past while ushering in a new era that will build upon its past," he said.

"I intend to continue with my busy freelance conducting, playing and adjudicating but look forward to working with my local band. They are ambitious and I want to help them fulfil their ambition to become a first rate concert band.

I have some exciting plans including several major concerts next year. I’m looking forward to a long a happy tenure."
