Frank Renton at Brass In Concert as Redbridge Brass, Fairey (Geneva) and Foden's play music which you might not hear anywhere else, such as music for cello and band and an arrangement of 'Brooklyn' by the Young Blood Brass Band
11th January:
Frank Renton at Brass in Concert with Tredegar Town Band, conducted Ian Porthouse, who carried off trophies for 'Quality of Performance', 'Best New Composition or Arrangement' and the twin awards for 'Best Principal' and 'Best Soprano' cornets.
Their programme included a new arrangment of Saint-Saens 'Danse Macabre' for violin and band and Matthew Hall's award winning 'Nightingale Dances'.
The programme ends with Carlton's Main's performance of 'Make Our Garden Grow', one of the hit songs from 'Candide'.
4th January:
Brass in Concert is one of the most prestigious entertainement band competitions and tonight Frank Renton presents Leyland's winning performance under conductor Richard Evans.
