4BR has been informed that one of the most popular contests in the North West has been saved from the recent cut backs in local government spending thanks to a new initiative promoted by Lancashire Contests supported by Tameside MBC.

It means that the Tameside Open Brass Band Championships will take place once again in 2012, on Sunday 25th March at Duckinfield Town Hall.

The contest will consist of Championship/ First, Second, Third and Fourth Sections on national gradings, with bands out to impress adjudicators Gordon Higginbottom and Andy Warriner.
