York celebrates Barry

York Railway Institute Band recently helped celebrate the life and music of one of its town's most famous sons.

The York Railway Institute Band recently performed at a sell out concert to help pay tribute to the life and music of one of York’s most famous sons, composer John Barry who died earlier this year.

Rave reviews

The concert featured over 200 performers including the York Guildhall Orchestra, the Steve Cassidy Band, Prima Vocal & Millegro and Ewa Salecka amongst others, with the band receiving rave reviews for its contribution.

Born Free

A packed York Barbican Hall heard iconic film scores created by the late Oscar winning composer, from the James Bond theme and 'Dances With Wolves' to 'Zulu' and 'Born Free'.
