4BR has been informed that the closing date for entries to the Leicester Open has now passed, with another record number signing up for the contest.
Delighted
The organisers are delighted with the response this year and now believe it has become one of the most popular and important own choice events in the banding calender.
62 bands have entered the event which takes place at Burleigh College and Garendon High School in Loughborough, Leicestershire, on Sunday 27th November.
I’m delighted at the high level of entries and at the support for this contest being shown by bands all over the countryLBBA Secretary, Lesley Bentley
Increasingly popular
The adjudicators this year are Malcolm Brownbill, Paul Holland, David Horsfield and Mike Kilroy, and in addition to the five registered sections, which are open to any contesting band, there is an Unregistered Section, which is proving increasingly popular with local bands and training groups.
Leicestershire Association Secretary Lesley Bentley told 4BR: "I’m delighted at the high level of entries and at the support for this contest being shown by bands all over the country."
Reminder
Bands are reminded to notify the association secretary of their chosen own choice test piece by the end of October.
