Ellenbrook & Boothstown Band has announced that Ewan Easton MBE, Principal Tuba of the Hallé Orchestra, has accepted the post as their new Musical Advisor.
Agreed
Ewan has worked with the band on a number of occasions over the past year, and instantly agreed to take up the post.
In his new role he will conduct from time to time, and work on band development with Musical Director, Craig Mann.
Delighted
Craig told 4BR: "I’m delighted Ewan has accepted the offer. I‘ve known him for a number of years and his talent, as an educator as well as a tuba player, are extraordinary.
His enthusiasm for music of any kind is incredibly infectious. I look forward to working with him over the coming months, and I know the members of the band feel the same way."

Project work
Ewan’s association with Ellenbrook & Boothstown started a year ago, when he asked the band to become involved in his project, Hallé4Brass, where a small team of tutors, visit Thorn Cross Young Offenders Institute on a weekly basis to give brass tuition to the young people.
It was for his work in this groundbreaking project, that he received his MBE in the New Years Honours List.
