There may well be a few brass band heroes in the making at the Royal Albert Hall on the weekend, but one famous cornet player is certainly doing his bit for the real heroes of the armed forces.
Help for Heroes
Roger Webster will be playing with reigning National Champions Brighouse & Rastrick on Saturday and has already donated his fee to the Help for Heroes (H4H) charity.
More donations
However, Roger is hoping that he will be able to attract a few more donations through his efforts at the Albert Hall – especially as he has promised that if he even mis-pitches a single note he’ll put in another pound to the cause!
"It’s wonderful charity, and with the launch of a new CD in January where all the proceeds will go to Help for Heroes, I thought it would be good to see if I could help raise a bit extra this weekend," he said.

Bank loan
"Hand on heart – if I miss a single note, I will put a pound in. I’m a bit nervous though as there are so many to play I may have to take out a bank loan!"
You can help Roger in his fund raising activity (although you don’t have to copy his example) by going to his webpage below and making a donation.
Simple
Roger added: "Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It's the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent you will boost your donation."
