Bath Spa Band is celebrating their 90th anniversary this year.
Formed in 1921 as the St James Mission Church Band, they later became the Bath Spa Imperial Band, although the ‘Imperial’ title was dropped in 1968.

The band achieved some of its greatest success in the 1960s and 1970s, and was promoted to the championship section in 1976.
The current band has a strong team of instrumentalists from Bath, Bristol and Wiltshire as well as players from local schools and Bath’s two universities, whilst some players have notched up over 50 years of service to the organisation.
CD
As part of their 90th anniversary celebrations, the band has recorded their second CD entitled, ‘90 Years of Brass’, whilst arrangements are being pout in place for their 90th Anniversary concert this Saturday at St Michael’s Without, Broad Street, Bath.
