Skelmanthorpe looking for entrants

The annual Skelmanthorpe Slow Melody and Ensemble event is looking for entrants.

Skelmanthorpe

The Annual Skelmanthorpe Band Slow Melody & Ensemble Competition will take place on Saturday 12th November at Pilling Lane Methodist Church, Skelmanthorpe.

The event will hopefully see over 60 competitors from 15 bands from across the country, playing in the eight sections, all trying to impress adjudicator Sandy Smith.

Last year proved to be a great event with adjudicator Alan Morrison commented on how much he had enjoyed his day. We are sure it is going to be the same this year tooOrganisers

Great event

Competition organiser, Graham Bates told 4BR: "Last year proved to be a great event with adjudicator Alan Morrison commented on how much he had enjoyed his day. We are sure it is going to be the same this year too."

The ensemble format is open to 2 to 8 players, rather than just quartets, to allow more flexibility in numbers and music played, whilst the Junior Section age limit will be 18 & under.

Separate indoor warming-up facilities have been arranged and hot and cold food and drinks will be available throughout the day.
