Herbert Howells’ 1935 masterpiece 'Pageantry' will be performed by Lydbrook Band, conducted by Ian Holmes this weekend in Howells’ home town of Lydney at St. Mary’s Church where he was a choir boy.
Plaque
A plaque in recognition of his immense musical achievements has been erected at St. Mary’s Church by the Herbert Howells Society, and the performance will provide a fitting musical reminder of the great composer talents.
The performance will be introduced by Professor Philip Wilby who will talk about the music and his time as a pupil of Howells.
