The National Youth Brass Band Championship of Great Britain has informed 4BR that following a recent Youth Championship sub committee meeting which discussed feedback from competing bands, players and adjudicators, it was decided to trial a number of changes for the 2012 Championships.

These will include:

The lowering of the age in the Beginners Section.

The combining of the Premier and Advanced Sections to create a new Championship Section. A slight change has been made to the playing time.

All test pieces will be the work of Goff Richards in recognition of the contribution Goff made to the world of brass banding.
