Blackpool Brass has appointed a new conductor.
Tariq Ahmed – known as Taz – made his debut with the band at last weekend’s Fleetwood contest.

An experienced top level player, he continues to play solo horn with Blackburn & Darwen Band.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We feel the band has entered a positive phase, welcoming Gareth Wynne on principal cornet, Alison Jones on soprano, Danny Jones on solo baritone and Hannah Woodhams on Eb Bass.
We are also pleased that ex-players Perry O’Brien and Joe Hamilton have returned to the fold although very sad to be losing John Brady and Stuart Ward."
