Lawrence scores high at the Europeans

Composer Phil Lawrence has been hitting the target at the Europeans — but with a difference....

Lawrence

Hot shot composer Phil Lawrence was hitting the mark at the Europeans on the weekend.

Targets

Phil was participating in the 2011 European Field Target competition at Weston Park Shropshire. Over 200,000 people sat and watched 200 of the best marksmen and women from across Europe compete to shoot 100 targets, which are less than 2 inches in diameter out of the air from over 50 yards away.

Gruelling

Further targets are even smaller, so Phil’s outstanding performance in coming 23rd overall over two days of gruelling competition was quite remarkable.

Day 1 was extremely windy which blows the pellet all over the place making the right compensation over different distances very difficult. On Sunday the wind had died down, so it made it a tiny bit easierPhil Lawrence

Bit easier

Phil told 4BR: "Day 1 was extremely windy which blows the pellet all over the place making the right compensation over different distances very difficult. On Sunday the wind had died down, so it made it a tiny bit easier!"
