The death has been announced of Tom White, the cornet player and bandmaster at CWS (Manchester) Band.

 

The death has been announced of former CWS (Manchester) cornet player and bandmaster, Tom White on Friday 9th September. He was 98.

National champions

A member of the legendary band that won the 1962 National Championships of Great Britain, he formed part of a solo cornet bench that comprised Derek Garside, Lyn Williams and Richard Dix.

Funeral

The funeral will take place on Wednesday 28th September at 12 noon, at the Macclesfield Crematorium, 87 Prestbury Road, Macclesfield, Cheshire SK1O 3BU
