Borders set for month of music

The 12th Borders Festival of Brass begins this weekend.

The 12th Borders Festival of Brass starts this weekend – the beginning of a month long series of events that ends on 21st October thanks to the efforts of the Scottish Borders Brass Band Association.

Ten events

The Festival will see ten events organised by each of the member bands and will include several concerts, a long-established solo and quartet competition and a brass and percussion workshop for school children.

Bands in the Borders work very hard within their local communities and the Festival is an excellent example of that. There is a host of excellent events to choose from within the 2011 programmeAlan Fernie

Work hard

Borders Association Chairman, Alan Fernie told 4BR: "We are delighted that the Festival of Brass is set to continue again this year. Bands in the Borders work very hard within their local communities and the Festival is an excellent example of that. There is a host of excellent events to choose from within the 2011 programme."
