It may have been the first time in 16 years that Paul Lovatt-Cooper had not performed at the British Open Championships, but this year’s event was still one to remember.
Run off feet
Paul joined his sales team at the PLC Music trade stand during the contesting day to sign CD's and music purchased by his fans throughout the day – and was run off his feet!
"It felt strange not rehearsing and being part of the build up to this brilliant contest – although I don’t think I could have been any busier during the day if I had!"
Demand
Paul was to be found in demand from fans as well as customers, with copies of the study score to his 100th National Championships test piece 'Breath of Souls' flying off the shelves.
"I couldn’t believe the interest ‘Breath of Souls’ has created – and that was reflected in us being sold out of the study scores by the end of the day. I can’t wait for London, although I will make sure everyone has the chance to buy a copy of the study score of the piece through my website before the big day."

Hear the piece
Not only that, but customers will also have the chance of hearing the piece played too – by none other than Black Dyke under the direction of Dr Nicholas Childs.
"Nick and the band kindly recorded a proof reading version of the piece for my presentation to Kapitol Promotions, the Band Press and members of the Association of Adjudicators in July," Paul explained.
Website
"I will publish this performance on my web site along with the sale of the study scores to allow players, conductors and audience members a chance to hear the piece and familiarise themselves with the score prior to the contest."
The recording of 'Breath of Souls' will be on www.plcmusic.com in the next few days.
