Due to prior family commitments Grimethorpe has had to fill a few player gaps ahead of their trip to Birmingham for the British Open.

Garry Cutt told 4BR that he is delighted at the new look tuba section, which sees Phil Blake-Convey and young tuba star Ben Dixon joined by Andrew Duncan and John Gillam.

Swedish welcome

Meanwhile, the band also welcomes Andreas Kratz from Sweden to play solo trombone for the contest, whilst Daniel Robson from a little closer to home joins the on the front row cornet bench.
