Bates to hang up famous trainers

There will be no more famous white trainers on show in the North West...

The popular Regional Secretary and contest compere Peter Bates has announced that he will be hanging up his famous white trainers at the forthcoming North West Regional Committee AGM.

Demanding role

After 12 years in the demanding role of Regional Secretary, Peter has decided not to seek re-election for a further 3 years to the post.

It brings to an end almost 25 years of service to the banding movement on the Regional committee in various official capacities, although Peter told 4BR that he hoped to still be involved in helping the organisation in some way for some time to come.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the bands in the North West for their help, support, co-operation and friendship over the years I have been Regional SecretaryPeter Bates

Thanks

He told 4BR: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the bands in the North West for their help, support, co-operation and friendship over the years I have been Regional Secretary and look forward to still being part of their day in Blackpool in 2012."

AGM

The Regional Committee will also be holding their Annual General Meeting on Friday 2nd September at the Woodley Civic Centre, Hyde Road, Woodley, Stockport and all bands on the grading tables have been sent an invitation to attend this meeting.
