Having achieved an Outstanding Award at the National Festival of Music For Youth in Birmingham in July for the second consecutive year, Wardle High School Senior Band under Musical Director Lee Rigg, are now preparing for their up coming performance at the Schools Prom at the Royal Albert Hall.
Four year gap
Wardle first performed iat the event way back in 1982 and will be making their eleventh appearance this year, following a four year gap.
The band has been asked by the event organisers to perform on the final night and to finish their programme with ‘The Lost Chord’ which will be accompanied by the Royal Albert Hall magnificent organ.

In April, they won the National Youth Brass Band Championships of Great Britain Intermediate Section at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, whilst they have also just finished recording a new CD which will be released for Christmas and returned from a mini tour of London.
