St. Ronan's Silver Band will be looking for plenty of wind this weekend when the Innerleithen outfit stages a 12-hour sponsored playing marathon.
Following its successful bid for an award from the Big Lottery People's Millions fund, the band still needs to raise £10,000 to achieve its goal of buying a new set of brass instruments and percussion to allow more people to get involved and more youngster to learn to play.
The event will also see the popular St. Ronan's Future Band playing its part.
12 hour marathon
The 12-hour marathon of music making has been arranged to help this become a reality and the band is combining it with its annual coffee morning to augment the superb events being organised in the town as part of Innerleithen Music Festival and Community Market.
