Advert: The Music Cellar

The latest Yamaha Neo tuba is now on sale — and has already bagged its first impressed customer...

The respected Prestonian BBb player, Andy Cattanach recently took delivery of his brand new Yamaha Neo BBb Tuba from The Music Cellar.

Andy was one of the players who tested the instrument for the instrument’s developer Simon Greswell, and as soon as they became commercially available Andy bought one.

Stunning

The excited new owner tried out the instrument in The Music Cellar shop itself – and all we can say is that the tuba looks and sounds stunning.

Speaking about his new tuba Andy said: "I’m delighted with it. It’s just so easy to play compared to other makes we BBb players have had to tolerate over the last 20 years. Tuning is a lot better, it's ergonomically redesigned making it as comfortable to use, and is remarkably well built.

I've already had chance to try it in both brass band and 10 piece ensemble, where it outshone both of my other BBb's comfortably!"

Answer questions

Once Andy has played his tuba for a few weeks he will be writing a more comprehensive review, and is more than happy to answer more specific questions through us at the Music Cellar.

The Music Cellar has the rest of the Yamaha Neo range in stock, with the euphonium and tenor horn proving to be very popular.

Delighted at response

Speaking on behalf of Yamaha Music, Regional Manager, Charlie Robertson said: "After the vast amount of development work that has gone in to the new Neo range of instruments we are absolutely delighted that top players such as Andy are now making them their first choice."
