UniBrass still looking for composers

UniBrass offer of 15 minutes of fame (and £2000) to young composers is still in need of entrants.

 

The competition for all young composers to submit an entry for the 2012 UniBrass Competition is well under way!

Judges

The organisers have confirmed that the judges for the competition will be Philip Sparke, Philip Harper, James McFayden, the UniBrass Chair Rhian Davies, and the UniBrass Secretary Rebecca Hardman.

Interest

A spokesperson told 4BR: "There has been a lot of interest, but we are still looking for more entries for a piece to be premiered at the 2012 event on Saturday 18th February at the UniBrass competition at Lancaster University."

The competition is looking for a 10-15 minute composition that should be accessible for University Bands — aimed at Third Section standard.

The piece be performed at the competition and be used during the workshops held on Sunday 19th February, whilst the winner will also receive £2000 prize money4BR

The composition will be published by Devilish Publishers, whilst closing date for the competition is 31st October 2011, and entrants must be 25 or under on this date.
