Thornbury Town Band have been filmed by the BBC for an appearance on a ‘Routes around Britain’ TV documentary fronted by celebrity comedian and presenter Griff Rhys Jones.
Filming
Filming took place alongside the tranquil quayside area near the Arnolfini in Bristol City Centre.
Despite gloomy, windswept weather the band performed ‘Rule Britannia’ during a scene involving Griff Rhys Jones travelling along a tree lined waterside cobbled roadway in a Rolls-Royce Phantom car.
Griff was recreating a journey made in 1574 by Queen Elizabeth 1 to the city from Hampton Court and will feature in the finale to the documentary due on television during the spring 2012.
