Great exam results at Lanner

The talented young players of Lanner Brass have been making their mark on their recent exams.

 

Just 18 months after the launch of the Lanner Brass Academy, eight of its young members have succeeded in passing their Associated Board of the Royal School of Music exams.

Merit

Miranda Rundle and Laura Matthews passed their Grade 1 on cornet, both with a merit, whilst Damien Nicholas received a merit for his Grade 1 on flugel with his brother Max also achieving a merit on horn.

Mia Watling and Matt Nix took their Grade 1 on euphonium and passed with merit whilst Jacob Penaluna, having already passed Grade 1 on trombone went on to successfully pass his Grade 2. Likewise Siana Rouse took her Grade 2 on cornet achieving a distinction.

Academy Manger Lee Rouse told 4BR: "All the children worked extremely hard putting in many extra hours of rehearsal We are all extremely proud of their achievements."

He added: "I would like to thank all the tutors who have had a part to play in this and a special thank you to Gwen Nicholas who provided piano accompaniment for the rehearsals leading up to the exams."

Tintwistle Band

March 18 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd euphonium and 2nd baritone player to help complete the team.. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
