Results: Gwent Youth Solo, Quartet & Ensemble

116 entrants battled it out at the recent Gwent Youth Solo, Quartet & Ensemble Contest in Newport.

There was a fine turn out of young players for the recent Gwent for Solo and Quartet contest – and they certainly impressed adjudicators Joanne Childs and Paul Holland.

116 players

The event took place at the YMCA Centre in Newport with 116 brass players taking part, representing bands and schools within Greater Gwent as well as entries from Upper Rhondda, the Forest of Dean, and from the Midlands band Sovereign Brass.

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around
