Pain hit at Dobcross

Kenny Pain is the new MD at Dobcross Silver Band.

Dobcross Silver Band has announced the appointment of their new Musical Director, Kenny Pain.

Kenny spent many years in the Army, a large part of which was as a musician in Band of the Coldstream Guards but never lost touch with his brass band roots.

He told 4BR: "The opportunity to conduct Dobcross is huge for me and I am thoroughly looking forward to working with the band, continuing the good work that Grenville Moore has done over the years."

Ambitious

Meanwhile, principal cornet, Charlotte Heaven, is looking forward to working under her new MD: "Kenny is a lovely guy who is enthusiastic and ambitious," she added. "He is already fitting into the band brilliantly and I am eager to start working with him."

The appointment has been sought following the departure of MD Grenville Moore in April.
