Hot on the heels of Tara Hardman signing from Leyland, the Rainford Band has announced that David Houghton has joined on Bb Bass.

The experienced tuba payer has enjoyed spells with Drighlington and Pemberton Old, as well as conducting Golborne for a number of years.

MD Neil Samuel told 4BR: "I'm thrilled that David has joined the band. He's a young, enthusiastic player with an awful lot to offer the band".

Rainford also welcome back Anna Spedding on principal cornet after a short spell away from the band after she was involved in a minor accident where she damaged part of her mouth and fractured her right wrist.
