Cawston claim crown for 125th celebrations

The Cawston Band has retained its East Anglian crown in its 125th year.

The Cawston Band under the direction of Leigh Sharpe enjoyed a fine start to their 125th year celebrations by winning the East Anglia Brass Band Contest and in the process successfully defending their ‘Champion Band of East Anglia’ title.

In the process at the contest the band picked up awards for winning the hymn tune and entertainment section and gaining the highest overall number of points.

There were individual prizes for horn player Kate Ogden, euphonium, Steve Clarke and Best Soloist, Alan Smith on trombone.
