Rushen Silver Band recently welcomed the Leyland Band to their island, where under the direction of the band’s MD John Doyle, they took part in rehearsals as well as taking an excellent workshop with Rushen's training band, Ballafesson Brass.
Gala Concert
A well received Gala Concert with Rushen on the Saturday night saw a large audience enjoy a short individual programme by Rushen, before an extended one from Leyland – with solos by Philippe Schwartz (euphonium), Matthew Balson (soprano cornet), and a trumpet solo by conductor John Doyle.

Finale
The finale featured the combined bands in Tchaikovsky's ‘1812’ and, as a welcome encore the ‘Gallop’ from the William Tell.
World class
