Bands entertain Royal Wedding visitors

A number of bands played their part in the Royal Wedding this year.

As part of the recent Royal Wedding celebrations Becontree Brass Band performed live to over 5,000 revellers in St. James’ Park, London

Entertain the crowds

The band took to the stage from 2pm to entertain the crowds as they returned from congratulating the couple outside Buckingham Palace.

The band had earlier performed to over 8 million listeners in a live outside broadcast on the BBC Radio 2 Chris Evans breakfast show, who described the band as, '‘…the Led Zeppelin of the Royal Wedding'.

The atmosphere of the day was amazing. I’d never experienced anything like it at a band engagement before – it was brilliantJenny Meadows

Atmosphere

Jenny Meadows told 4BR: "The atmosphere of the day was amazing. I’d never experienced anything like it at a band engagement before – it was brilliant."

Test magic

Meanwhile the young members of Test Valley Brass were keen to add their own little bit of magic to the day. They joined other revellers at the ‘White Hart’ pub in Stoke to help create a party atmosphere and join in the celebrations.

The band performed outside in the sunshine and decorated their stands with Union Jack flags in celebration of the big day.

MD Chris Sharp, told 4BR: "We had a great day. It felt a great day to be British and be part of the celebrations."
