The three finalists who will battle it out for the honour of being crowned the 5th European Conductor Competition winner have been decided.
Six conductors took part in the semi final at the Dudingen Podium in Saal in Switzerland on Tuesday evening, but it was Erik Van der Kolk (Netherlands), Nick Ost (Belgium) and Tristan Uth (Germany)who eventually made it through to the final on Thursday evening at the Stravinski Auditorium in Montreux.
Contenders
The competition, which forms part of the 34th European Brass Band Championships saw the six semi finalists contend with either Johan de Meij’s ‘Extreme Make Over’, Philip Sparke’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ or ‘Peter Graham’s ‘Harrison’s Dream’.
In the end Nick Ost and Tristan Uth came through on 'Harrison's Dream' whilst Erik Van der Kolk impressed with his direction of 'Extreme Make Over'.4BR
