Players from Newhall Band won prizes at the recent Leicestershire Brass Band Association Spring Festival.

The Junior and Senior Solo, Duet and Quartet contest was held at Groby Community College.

Winners

Patricia Woodings, Shiela Dixon, Jo Priestley and Sharron Bradford won second prize in the open quartet class by playing 'Petite Suite for Brass Quartet', whilst Shiela and Jo also won first prize in the open duet class with Donizetti's 'Lucia Di Lammermoor'.

Shiela, Patricia, Sharron and other members of the band also took part in solo and duet sections and all had an enjoyable day.
