Renshaw heads to Sheffield

Derek Renshaw takes over the helm at City of Sheffield.

The City of Sheffield Band has announced the appointment of Derek Renshaw as their new Musical Director.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Derek has a long association with the band and brings a wealth of experience and success. We are looking forward to an exciting and enjoyable partnership."

Principal return

The band has also announced the return of Mathew Knowles on principal cornet.

The spokesperson added: "Mathew is an excellent soloist and section leader and along with another two excellent signings the band now has a full compliment."
