4BR has caught up with Garry Cutt, to find out his feelings on his return to Grimethorpe Colliery Band,
Delight
Garry is currently in Sweden starting preparation with Windcorp Band for their first attempt at the European Brass Band Championships in Montreux in a few weeks time, but despite the distance away from the Grimethorpe bandroom, you couldn’t mistake his delight he felt at his return.
Fondly
"My association with the band stretches back over a decade or more, and it is certainly an association which I look back on extremely fondly," he told 4BR
"In particular were the Brass in Concert victories, but also the week to week high profile concerts and of course the three major tours taking in iconic concert venues such a Sydney Opera House and Carnegie Hall in New York."

Happy hunting ground
Garry added: "As you have reported on previous occasions, the British Open has been the happiest of hunting grounds, so the opportunity to take Grimethorpe in the 20th year, since they last won, is a mouthwatering prospect.
They have always been a unique band and if we can establish that rapport we had during from the 90's who knows!"
