New MD for Silkstone

Simon Kerwin takes the helm at Old Silkstone with immediate effect.

Old Silkstone Band has announced the appointment of Simon Kerwin as their new Musical Director.

150th celebration

Simon has been rehearsing the band since its withdrawal from this year’s Area contest in Bradford, and recently conducted the band at their 150th year opening celebration concert.

Looking forward

A spokesperson told 4BR: “With several other concerts scheduled for this years celebrations, the band is looking forward to Simon driving us forward during 2011 and beyond.”
