Smithills School Senior Band has confirmed to 4BR that they will undertake a tour to the United States next year.

It will be the fourth time that the band under the direction of Chris Wormald has toured the country since 2000.

Chris told 4BR: "Having already performed in eight states, the exact 2012 itinerary is still to be finalised, but the concerts will be entitled, ‘A Musical Tribute to America’."

Celebration

He added: "We will include a celebration of music by John Williams, the finishing touches of which are currently being made, ‘Symphonic Dances’ from ‘West Side Story’ arranged by Eric Crees and an extended set of music made famous by Frank Sinatra."
